Hi guys, I'm looking into installing ubuntu studio 7.04. The only drawback is the fact that i'm not sure how well office 2007 home and student w/ the addition of publisher will work w/ wine. any suggestions.

Also look at VirtualBox at http://www.virtualbox.org for a free alternative to VMWare (although maybe not quite as flexible, but I guess that's a matter of opinion). I've used it on OS X Leopard and it runs REALLY FAST! It's available for just about every flavor of Linux and Windows, too.

Office 2007 will not run well at all under wine. You would be better off using a different office suite (Try openoffice, http://www.openoffice.org) or sticking with windows/dualboot.

See http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...rsion&iId=4992 for Office 2007s compatibility under wine

Also, 7.04 is over a year old, use 8.04 from http://ubuntustudio.org/downloads
