Gnome desktop error
I just upgraded to Linux 8.0.4 LTS and am experiencing a few problems. My Samba seems to be broken now. I had a whale of a time getting it to work under Ubuntu 6 & 7 but I will work on it before I give up and ask for help. Now my Gnome issue. After installing the update and restarting, I got an error message that I wish I would have written down or gotten a screen-shot of but anyway it was something to the effect that some items weren't found or missing and the Gnome desktop failed to completely load. So I didn't have a menu bar, no icons, no system tray, no cursor, nothing, just the screen. I force quit and restarted and voila everything loaded. Problem is half the time the desktop loads, other times it doesn't and the original error message doesn't even reappear when it decides it isn't going to load. Any ideas or suggestions?
