Beginner at Linux
Hi Everyone,

I have just got the Freespire edition of Linux, on the live CD. I wish to learn hoe to start using linux in an involved way i.e. sourcecode and stuff. I'm new to programming, never done it before so I know next to nothing abou it. Is there anyone who can start me off - a few pointers or a guide?

Much appreciated guys

How about just drop the CD into the drive and find your way there before asking a question which can have millions answers?

A Linux is just like a Windows system. Most PC users can switch between the two. If there is something you can do with one system you should be able to do it with the other.

If you play with the sourcecode you change the Linux. Can you do it without knowing how to run it?

What is the use of the sourcecode if you don't even know Linux can call a C: drive as /dev/sda1 or /dev/hda1?
