Thumbs down Fedora has problemss with wireless card
Hi
Ive got one windows system and my other XP installation on my Dell Inspiron 1501 wasnt working well so ive installed Knoppix 8

I had on my old laptop a:
Broadcom 440x 10/1000 integrated controller

Dell Wireless 1490 Dual band WLAN mini card

Now when im on fedora it seem to come up with the broadcom controller but i can't seem to set anything up

So how can i set this up on knoppix? Im guessing drivers but im not to sure

Im really new to knoppix but fine with anything else so any help would be great

If your Linux distribution does not have a native driver for your Wi-Fi adapter the magic name to remember and search for is "ndiswrapper." It is a way to install a Windows XP driver, if you are lucky.

Here is an article on General Information On Wireless Card Setup Under Knoppix.

Even though it is a different distribution Ubuntu's WiFiDocs/Driver/Ndiswrapper explanation may be helpful.

I know nothing about Fedora or Knoppix, so this may be my only attempt to help with this thread. Good luck.
