Question Solved: renew DSL ethernet connection
How in Slackware 12.1 with KDE 3.5.9 using that KNemo tool connecting with a standard DSL modem, do I renew the DHCP IP address to be able to reconnect online when I had shutoff the dsl modem or not had it on during the boot up process? And yes all 4 lites are on with my Westell DSL modem from Verizon. I did check the options for use with; "ifconfig" command, but there is no renew, or restart listed, (like ipconfig /renew in XP) I did find a thread post about; "dhclient eth0" to renew the IP address, or just re-start the DHCP client service manually ? What way works best ?

So after booting up fully into Slackware 12.1, I then shut off my DSL modem, and re started the modem connection with; "dhclient eth0" to renew the IP address, which said that it was already running, but still allowed me to re-connect online, and I will also try that; ifup eth0 some time soon too, thanks.
