Exclamation Acer aspire one (1)
Hi, The old ones hav just bought a new acer aspire 1, 120 gb hard drive. currently living in bulgaria, back of beyond, so far out dont even have dial up let alone cable, still using mechanical switched :-S.
anyway, trying to install the drivers for the vodafone mobile interweb dongle junk, have the drivers read all the walk throughs and all that jazz all going well till prompted for system password, (running linux limpus, NOT VISTSA) the only problem is, when they 1st initialised the system they say they left the password field blank, this is where we fall down and linux apears to be worse than windows (i know sacralige, bad spelling, i appologise). Now stuk with this problem, i've tried every password i or anyone else can think of, aswell as all the usual OS standards, this is made more annoying by the reboot after 3 failed attempts. new to linux so this may be a stupid question, but when attempting to enter the password in terminal, it does not display as i type, no (*) or anything, is this normal??? Has anyone had the same or similar problems, and how did you fix them, any help would be great, thanks for reading this rather long post, and even more if you can offer assistance with it.
