Output to Television from Puppy / DSL or other
I have an old laptop - Dell Inspiron 3700 w/ 4G Hard Drive and 64Megs Ram that I'm looking to revive for the sole purpose of streaming video content from netflix onto my TV. Does anyone know if either the Puppy or DSL builds allow for this kind of thing?

Thanks.

I don't know. It probably depends on whether Netflix requires anything that is not supported in those distributions.

When I use my Systemax (see my computer specs) to play music files that are stored on its disk it pauses occasionally to catch its breath or something. I question whether it could keep up sufficiently for video streaming. This is not a comment/concern about the operating system; it has to do with our beloved old laptops.

I learned a lot trying to use Linux to turn my old laptop into a useful gadget. But the learning far outweighs my success.

I believe Netflix currently supports only IE when downloading videos.

Peace...
