Question Cannot retrieve files from DVD+R RW
I saved a full DVD+R RW's worth of music into a Memorex DVD+R RW and now I cannot copy the files onto my hard drive. I had 7 other DVD+R RWs like this and had no problems with any of them. I looked at the properties of the files in the other DVDs and they all had "read-only" as the permission, but i could easily switch them to "read and write". This particular DVD, however, will not allow me to switch. The drop-down menu wont even drop down.

Also, with the other DVDs, it showed me as owner, this one shows "root" as owner.

Sound like what you need to do is become root and copy the music back to Desktop from DVD+R RW, erase the DVD+R RW (if possible). Then become your regular user identity (login), and re-create the DVD+R RW as the regular user.
