Damn small linux install problem
Im trying to install DSL on a old compaq armada 1550, So old it shipped with 95 on it. My cousin gave it to my mom to use as a back up, travel machine. I installed 98 on it but that didnt leave too much hd space available. Trying to install DSL thinking that should leave more space. When I try to get it to load I get stuck in a loop with read error at pos 9419901 in file cdrom/knoppix over and over again, The numbers change but the first part always remains the same. I thought possibly bad cd burn, but when I tried the disk on my gateway notebook it loaded without a problem.
Could it be the compaq is just too old for anything to use? I have also tried a puppy linux distro with no success on either one.
Thanks for support
