Solved: Linux OS that is compatible with MS windows apps
i am trying to find a Linux distribution that is compatible with most MS windows apps such as Microsoft office and Windows Media Player

Whatever Linux distribution you select, just be sure you can install Wine, and then execute the Windows commands as follows:
$ wine <command>

Yes. It is called Linux. Just run its equivalent programs on the same data from Windoze.

Yes, it is very handy.

I have found it useful numerous times to find a name to an app in which to search my repository for.

I almost raged when I saw this post. There should be a banner saying that Linux =/= Windows.

I honestly don't remember.

It was a couple of years ago when I first started looking at Linux.
It has been one of my bookmarks ever since.
