I was wondering how i catch various signals in nix python so i can exit my programs gracefully? Please reply my post if you know the answer.

The simple answer is to write a signal handler for the signal(s) that you want to catch.

You either need to learn how to write a signal handler in Python, or search a webpage that gives a tutorial on writing signal handlers, e.g. in C or CPython.

Python exception handling is what you should investigate to get a handle on the topic of writing a signal handler for your need.
