Errors installing Skunkware on SCO Openserver
download xv-3.10a.VOLS.tar from caldera.com and I untarred the file in my home directory ran custom at the command prompt and tried to install the software.

In the middle of the install I got this message:
Error extracting from streaming archive
Error reading cpio archive
Bad magic number in cpio header

I was looking on caldera.com for help but they were focusing on getting these messages with doing stuff with floppies.

I am running Sco Openserver 5.0.5

Does anyone know some work arounds for this problem. Or some other way to install this file.

I also tried installing the .gz file but when i ran make i got these errors.
cd jpeg ; make
make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/me/xv-3.10/jpeg'
gcc -I. -DBSD -o ansi2knr ansi2knr.c
ansi2knr.c:174: ctype.h: No such file or directory
ansi2knr.c:177: strings.h: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [ansi2knr] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/me/xv-3.10/jpeg'
make: *** [jpeg/libjpeg.a] Error 2

I searched for ctype.h and strings.h on the hard drive and they are not here.
