Ubuntu 9!!
I'm really pleased & impressed. I couldn't get previous versions of Ubuntu to work with my Atheros wireless gizmo.
Just thought I'd try Ubuntu 9 via Wubi ... and it was really plug & play ... going to post a thanks too at Ubuntu forum.
Will try using only Ubuntu (via Wubi) for a few weeks to see if I can ditch Windows (ie no apps that I can't find in Linux).

Off to play some more!!

I agree,they did a good job.
I was running 8.10 and did a upgrade of the system
with the update manager and it went off without a hitch.
Didn't crash anything or mess with my custom settings.

Been using 9.04 for a while.

I also downloaded Win7 32 and 64 bit and installed them in the same box. Ubuntu is already miles ahead of the game when Vista was launched. It still beats Win7 hand down.

I want to create a USB boot drive off my Ubuntu CD using a Mac to do it. See my thread in this same forum.
