Crunchbang Linux is a lightweight variant of Ubuntu.
I'm running it on my Sony Vaio (PIII 600 Mhz 256 MB RAM).

I would suggest the alternate install CD of Crunchbang-Lite.

OMG! I can't believe some of you are suggesting even Xubuntu for that machine! Kubuntu, Debian are too heavy for a 233mhz processor with 128mb!!!

Sir, you need to look at Deli linux or tinyme, something in that line. There comes a time when old really means too dang old for even the lightest linux.

The only Ubuntu family I'd even try on it would be Ulite. http://u-lite.org/

Kubuntu and Debian are too heavy, but Xubuntu will run just fine, and Ill stand by that.
