hlds CS source server not listening on port
hi, i appreciate any help offered on this subject. Im running hlds on a debian box, and have all the appropriate ports forwarded from router. the server sucessefully connects to master servers and vac authenticates, however i nor anyone else can connect to it. when netstat -lnp is ran i see the server on 192.168.0.101:27015 udp but it is NOT listening. how can I force it to listen, or what is the issue here? thanks again

Hi rdjw,

It appears from your message that you are running a listening server as opposed to a dedicated server - is that correct?

Was a client running also? Listen servers are usually terminated when the client is.

What application is being used to try and connect with the server on what port - is that port setup in the apps as port 27015 for both udp and tcp? Or, just for tcp?

no its a dedicated server, Half Life Dedicated Server, however it still needs to listen on the port to accept connections. both tcp and udp are open from the pnat, as for connecting to it, ive tried on various machines, and it doesnt show up with things like gametiger, etc
