Can not install linux
Hi
Till now I tried to install :
-Backtrack 2-3
-Mandreke
-Pardus (Turkish)
-Mepis
-Ubuntu
-RedHAT
NONE of them were able to boot.
All got stuck in the loading screen or when the codes start to run it said that a file was misiing or just got stuck. Some people say that my mother board is not compatiable with linux itself. I use AsRock P4i65GV. What may be the problem? and how can I solve it?
Thank you

90 % of those I have seen fail were because of video card. Does your system use onboard video?
What version of Ubuntu have you tried? (The others I have struggled with too often).
Try Ubuntu 8.04 and install from Windows with it if you have Windows on the same computer, it's the best version to install with.

What file is missing?
How old is the machine? Most up-to-date versions would have been compiled on at least an i686 processor.

make sure you have the correct version, there is a 386 and and 686.
Also many have a standard installed and an alternate installer, try the alternate.
Have you ever tried a live CD, those let you boot into destro, but it does not install.
i have found this site SUPER helpful.

Files are always different.. I think I tried Ubuntu 9
How old.. Hmmm I can not tell because it is not a ready-made pc. I got the parts and build it by myself.
Yes i tried live CDs but NONE of them worked

As I said I have never had luck with 2 newest Ubuntu versions. Try 8.04 or 7.10, they play better with video drivers.
