Fedora core 10 stuck in guest mode limbo
Hello folks,
My problem is that i recently purchased a belkin N+ wireless router (has backwords compatibility with b&g) and it has a feature on its configuration that allows a guest mode to access the lan and use it as an internet AP without access to my local network. Therefore i enabled it as i have a non WPA compliant device that appears to be able to happily use it for internet access while keeping the main network secured under the routers wpa encryption. The problem lies in my fedora core 10 box where for some reason the router always treats that pc as if it were a guest pc no matter if it is on the regular lan or public access ap. The public access mode is similar to a wireless connection in a hotel where when the browser is opened it takes me to a page asking for an access code and then it will allow the user to freely browse the web. Its odd as whenever i open a web browser in the linux machine (firefox) it always asks for this passcode even if i am on the regular lan and after which i can browse the internet and access lan recources (blocked from lan recource on the public lan). I also looked into the router settings to see if there is a way to have the second lan broadcasted in a traditional wep mode it does not allow it. Only the wpa encryption seems to be allowed (makes no sense to me there either). So i am asking, how can i set up the linux machine to only connect to the main network and not even give a second thought to the other network that way it is no longer affected by it.
thanks in advance
