Solved: Black screen not going away!? Software? Hardware?
I just recently moved and before the move the computer worked just fine. After the move I have plugged everything in and nothing. The pc powers up like its running etc but the monitor remains black with the yellow indicator light constant. I know its not the monitor because when I first plugged it in I got the screen that says its not receiving a signal from the pc (the pc wasn't turned at the time). So I thought maybe I'll download Kubuntu 9.10 (since i'm running 9.04) and see if that will get the screen going.... So I have download 9.10 (kubuntu of course) and popped it into the cd and still hasn't done anything. Let me take you through a step-by-step of what it does do.

From it already being on (the pc):
1. Press the cd eject button
2. Pop the 9.10 cd in
3. Hold the power button on the pc to turn it off
4. Wait 10 seconds then turn it back on

(This I thought was odd)

5. It turns on then after like 5 seconds shuts off (clicks and light on pc goes off) then about
3-5 seconds after that it turns back on and the light on the cd player blinks like it is
reading the cd.

During this whole process the monitor remains black and the indicator is a constant yellow. I have checked to see if its my connections to the pc itself and everything is snuggly connected.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Matt

Turns out the ram wasn't in their slots firmly enough.
