Solved: Error making ubuntu USB flash drive from ubuntu
I'm trying to make a USB ubuntu flash drive from ubuntu 9.10 installed on my computer. I use the option in administration to try this. But I get an error while copying files to the flash drive. My source is a CD with an ubuntu iso file downloaded from ubuntu. But this file appears to me to be an installation file and not a live CD file. I've looked at www.pendrivelinux.com to get a live ubuntu file in the live CDs list but it appears that's not what I'm getting. This is where I got the link to download the live ubuntu file: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/live-cd-repository/

What do I need to do differently to get this to work?
Please see attached images for error code. Th other image is the contents of the 4gb flash drive when copying to it is halted.

If you installed ubuntu from a cd that you burned, then the cd
is the image that it is looking for.
If not, download the iso file from www.ubuntu.com and use
iso burning software to burn it to cd.
The image it uses is actually the live cd image and it creates
an image file on the drive too, where it saves changes.

Although ubuntu overwrites the drive,I usually format it FAT32
on a windows machine to clear the drive before starting.

Thanks! I got the flash drive properly done to boot as ubuntu. Now I need to contact my computer tech support to see about changing the BIOS to boot from a USB. Thanks again.
