Windows Macro Program Running in Linux?
I use a program called MacroExpress in Vista. If I run Ubuntu inside Vista via VMWare, will those macros then work in Ubuntu? For instance if I hit Cntrl-Alt-H in Windows then Macro Express will automatically type out my name. If I hit that key combo in Ubuntu, would it also type out my name?

Hi halcour,

Have you tried it yet? Go ahead and try it - it won't bite back! My guess is that it will not work because you would have to have mapped that keystroke sequence in Ubuntu. However, we are talking about MacroExpress running inside Ubuntu - not without first installing Wine in Ubuntu, then trying to run MacroExpress running in Wine in Ubuntu (running in Vista the way you have it setup now). Ugghh!

If the 1st attempt does not work (I doubt it), try running Wine in Ubuntu in Vista - better yet, dual-boot Vista and Ubuntu, install Wine in Ubuntu, and then try it to see if it works.

Hope you have lots of RAM.
