acer aspire one linpus lite - desktop blank
i am typing this from my wii.
tried to update firefox on AAO linux using steps from macles.blogspot post.
Firefox icon appeared but not clickable, even after reboot.
I then uninstalled FF 2, which erased FF icon.
Reinstalled FF2, rebooted.
Desktop came up blank except for top right search bar & bottjm bar.
Rebooted again... now desktop completely black-blank, no bars, nothing except white pointer cursor.

Please help, Wii is my only internet access now.

Dont want to lose all data by system restore...but i cant anyway b/c i dont have other computer to put disc in and make flash drive.

Would greatly appreciate help...
thank you

Which steps exactly?

I don't know how feature complete the Aspire One is, or what you've done to it, but try some of the following:

alt+F2 to open a run command box. Put 'xterm' in the box without the quotes and hit enter. This gets you a command prompt.
Try running
gnome-panel
xfce4-pane
And see if the panels come up.

If not, try ctrl-alt-backspace to restart X, which *might* do something.

I'll have a think about other things, but what'd be most useful is to know exactly which commands you ran.
