make CD boot
I insert in winME Laptop a cd wth a linux ISO but will not start the istall or boot.

Is there anything I can do to make it run?

1) Make sure you have burnt the ISO properly. It is common for newcomers to just copy the ISO to the CD - or make it DOS bootable. Burning an ISO is a special operation to make a Linux bootable disk. If you are in any doubt have a look at "BurningIsoHowto" on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto

2) Make sure that the BIOS is set to boot fron the CD-Rom first, before the hard disk.
