Exclamation Color Scheme
I'm new to the world of Linux. I decided to install Ubuntu on my laptop because of a class I will be taking is going to utilize it. Anyway as I was browsing the web the color scheme seemed to have changed. It's like all colors reverted to a 'negative' color scheme. I already went into the preferences to see if the settings were changed but hadn't. What's causing the colors to be inverted?

Hi chart2006,

Since your context of color seems to be regarding the use of a browser - then I assume you are talking about Firefox - if not which browser are you using?

Regarding Firefox and the appearance of colors there are several choices:
To bring up Firefox Preference, choose Edit>Preferences, then select the Content tab at the top which has all of the color controls.

The default font is serif and size is 16. Reset to these value if you have changed them.

Click on the Colors button.

The default settings are: Text: black; Background: gray; Unvisited Links: black; Visited Links: magenta?

Use system colors is checked. Underline links is checked. Allow pages to choose their own colors instead of my selections above is checked.

Revert you settings as above and you should then have the default settings.

If that does not solve your problem, then the problem is not with Firefox color settings.

Try selecting System>Preferences>Appearance, then select Theme Human - in this case, you may have made a change to High Contrast Inverse, and selecting Human will get you back to the default appearance.
