nuby777,
It would be more helpful if you could give more info. What Linux distribution are you trying to install?

One important thing do you want to remove the Win 3.1 and install the Linux instead of it. How many drives do you've in your computer?

Do you how to change the BIOS settings? You need to change the boot sequence so that CdRom is the primary boot device, so that you could boot through the Cd and install the OS.

Plz get back with the info and we could help you more...

nuby777,
I asked you as to what Linux you are trying to install?

To change the BIOS settings too it would be useful if you could post about the BIOS you've. Is it Award or AMI BIOS?

Plz get back with these...

I have no idea since I have an older computer I dont know which one I could install that would let me run applications without any problems such as not haveing enough space if you have any ideas which one I should run I would appreciate the help if not I'll have to see which linux os there are and how much memory I have. I once had linux and windows but I dont know if linux os was deleted and if not how would I find it

NP

What are your system specs?

1) Processor speed
2) RAM
3) Harddisk size

These would be helpful in determining as to what Linux OS you want to install.

Being a newbie I'd suggest you to try Mandrake Linux. Its a very good OS for beginners.
