Redhat problem after installation boot
Problem: I installed redhat several times. It reboots it's self after installation and after the computer boots it goes to the single text word L. That's all it does nothing else. At first I thought it may have been I was partitioning wrong.. I tried again and used disc druid instead or auto to configure it. I install it... L. Did that 4 times now.. Yes, I have been looking at faqs and manuals on the internet.. I simply don't know what's going on! Anyone have any clue to what it might be?

Have you tried with Linux Rescue and see if that could help.
Do you have a Dual boot system? When does the OS exactly stop? At what screen. Do you atleast get to the bootloader?

That usually means a disk error. Was there a series of numbers after the "L"?

Doesn't go to bootloader. Right after my computer boots and before it would go into the bootloader it just goes to a nother line with the letter L and nothing else. Oh btw i'm a newbie to linux.

If you are using Lilo as your bootloader, the "L" may be the first character in the Lilo display as your machine attempts to boot. I'd suspect a Lilo configuration problem. Have you tried booting from a floppy?
Hope this helps.

That may have helped allot.. Yes, I was using lilo.. I would try to use the boot disk but my disk drive is broken
So now I'll try the installation with grub..

Yes, you could also try booting through the cd and try the linux rescue option. See if it can help out.
codejockey,
Thanks again for helping out.
