I've created a bootable USB and booted into the window interface.
All I want to do is access my Windows files but I have no idea where to look or if something needs to be mounted.

If you want to browse around and see whats inside RIP, right click the desktop and choose from the menu that pops up. There you will see the MOUNT/UNMOUNT option that gives you access to your hard drive and files. I suggest however, that you read as much as you can(in the man pages/docs/website/help files....ect) on how to use RIP before you do. RIP is a powerful little distro and if you`re new to Linux, you could accidentally wipe out files you`re trying to save. I suggest using PUPPY LINUX mentioned above if you`re trying to rescue files from your windows installation. It is a powerful distro for it`s size also, but much easier to use and navigate than RIP. A word of caution with using ANY Linux distro for this purpose:
ALWAYS UNMOUNT ANY MOUNTED DRIVE OR PARTITION before you shutdown. While i have accidentally shutdown w/out unmounting a partition without losing any data, it is strongly suggested that you unmount it first to prevent data loss.
