| Blue Desktop Background I offered to fix somebody's computer thinking she had a few bad programs on it. Nothing I couldn't handle... turns out it's pretty bad. There's a Blue background saying the words "Warning! Spyware has been detected on your computer!" in a yellow box and under it says, "Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer." in a box that has the same color blue as the background. Also, I wasn't able to get to sites like MSN.com until after I scanned it with a few programs. I do notice that it likes to redirect me to other sites when I try to click on links. Oh, and before, Pop-ups from the system tray would say stuff like "someone is hacking your computer, click here to scan your computer. After I scanned it with Ad-aware, Smitrem.exe, smitfraudfix, avg antivirus 8.0, and norton, it stopped. Now, no matter what desktop background I change it to, it changes back to the blue one. It's really pissing me off. Here's the HijackThis info: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 5:32:46 PM, on 3/27/2008 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 2007\aawservice.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\AOL\ACS\AOLacsd.exe C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\AluSchedulerSvc.exe C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgwdsvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr.exe C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched.exe C:\Program Files\Dell Network Assistant\hnm_svc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exe C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgam.exe C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgrsx.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgnsx.exe C:\PROGRA~1\TRENDM~1\INTERN~1\TmPfw.exe C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgemc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllhost.exe C:\WINDOWS\ehome\ehtray.exe C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\RUNDLL32.EXE C:\Program Files\Dell\Media Experience\DMXLauncher.exe C:\WINDOWS\stsystra.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\DLA\DLACTRLW.EXE C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\issch.exe C:\Program Files\Dell Photo AIO Printer 926\dlcxmon.exe C:\Program Files\Dell Photo AIO Printer 926\memcard.exe C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Photo Album 6\MediaDetect.exe C:\Program Files\Vongo\VongoTray.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\BluetoothAuthorizationAgent.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exe C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgtray.exe C:\WINDOWS\Wireless\Wireless.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\Internet Security 14\TMAS_OE\TMAS_OEMon.exe C:\Program Files\Dell Support\DSAgnt.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\dlcxcoms.exe C:\Program Files\Dell Network Assistant\ezi_hnm2.exe C:\Program Files\Digital Line Detect\DLG.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\AUPDATE.EXE C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\LuComServer_3_4.EXE C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\LuCallbackProxy.exe C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\LuCallbackProxy.exe C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\LuCallbackProxy.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe R3 - | I fixed it. I went into Safe-mode and ran Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware. If anyone has this problem, download it and put your PC into safe mode and scan it. Should do the trick. |
