adaware (lavasoft) found several instances of spyware on my computer but will not remove it. i have also used panda activescan, spybot, pctools spyware doctor, and malwarebytes anti-malware. all of most of these other scans have also found, and removed the spyware found, but my system is still effected by an obvious presence of malware/crapware on my computer. the fan is running much louder than normal, browsing is sluggish, and the system as a whole is real slow.

i have just downloaded the newest hijackthis and will post results at the end. i have read other posts in this forum before posting this one - hoping i could fix this myself - but nothing i have done has worked. i sincerely appreciate any assistance.

Hello airforceone,

No infection showing here, but this system is burdened down with way too much security software installed.

AVG Antispyware, SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes - choose one of those and uninstall the others. Ad-Aware as well, though not really the equivalent of these, so it is an added software that overlaps security and slows things down as well. Your system also shows that EarthLink security package, including the Authentium antivirus and other software. I sense Spyware Doctor, installed along with that full package, is also burdening things down. I suggest you uninstall it as well. Be sure to disable ALL of these security softwares before making any changes, then reboot after any changes as well. Uninstall too - not just disable. Almost all of the softwares I mentioned include services and functions that load even when showing as disabled.

As for any online slowness, look through your HijackThis log at all the different toolbars installed on your system. Most toolbar softwares each load when IE/your browser loads, and immediately establish contact with their own servers. Often also then sending and receiving data, which many describe as "updating". Why they "update" each time your browser opens? Just not real sure. So toolbar = slowness. You can uninstall any of these you choose through Add/Remove Programs.

Thank you Jintan. I'll uninstall some of the security software i have. I thought Spyware Doctor was a pretty good program but will also delete that and just keep one program.
