I spent a half hour posting, and was not logged in, lost the post!
Does the board auto-disconnect or is the the second user who is in my registry?

I will try again. I was logged in, I saw my name in the users online space!

Question MTX went active, I have a passenger, I have old root kit, and Per User settings
My old Root kit has killed 2 pcs and is also in this one (does it wait for me somewhere online?).

This pc is an old retired one, AMD 1800 2xproc, 512, no sound, no usb (to be found), CdRW and DVD only read, will not save. Win XP Pro Sp2 (belonged to more recent Pc which blew the monitor and then burned up the power supply after putting in new sound card).

This PC was never completed, so I reload it every 28 days.
I then scan the registry (also after any install):
!,^,<,>, scrfile, regfile, .doc, telephoney, trusted shares, netscape, ppt, pot, All embedding, and most compatibility; and Components any which are ? or blank or have a row of zeros for an owner.

There are TWO numbers for users in the registry.
There is only supposed to be me. How do I get the other one out?

There is a lot in the second report. I will not say as much as I fear a time limit, so I will append them, and then come back and comment on some of the stuff I do not understand.

I think "the issue" is swiping System Mechanic Virus updates from my PC and sending them somewhere! For some reason the AV maps into the dotH Junk when it loads, and this makes life difficult!

Any help appreciated, I know about PE_xxx, I had 5 of them. I think still on MB. It may be reason for some issues like #USR control pannel.

I have process explorer saves from some of the very dicey stuff, but they are exes and I do not know how to send them.

Thank you
Sally K

I see it took the whole post ... Yahoo!

I have Sysinternals reports on suspicious items. Process Explorer -- does not see everything, but sees quite a bit.

If they would help, please advise on how to send. the save as exe files, but in a readable box.

Cool MTX? .. Been a few, but you seem pretty busy!!
MTX seems to go active and try to get the AV. & .. I am certain AV is mapped into the dotH.

I seem to lose the AV about every other boot up (after an update attempt). Then I have to run utilities and etc. and fuss until all is OK (or I get an AV update).
Machine drops me off line like it is psychic. Is that good or bad? never mind...

I got LISPfix and it says the windsock is OK, but if I were to try Windows Live (offered by my ISP) it will say I am not running a Windows Machine (but live update, finds me). My overall Trojan seems to be written in Java!! ...

Moreover, I get updates when I am off line!! .. Modem unplugged for scouring machine for various trash, and bingo, I have many updates!

I had TWO ,,, yes 2 malicious software removal tools. One was tied to the little windows which says you may not delete these or touch them, etc, and the other was the real item (maybe). Last time I ran it ... it was not directed at my issue.

Please check the Windsock, and the Per User Items (installing Net Meeting, and some other things) I set to 0. I am pretty certain this is my back door, but I don't seem to be able to find all the pieces. Zones is one, I believe, with Internet Explorer.

Thank you for ANY help!
Sally

P.S. would send Winternals reports but they are .exe -- I could change them to append?

What are "Trackbacks" .. .????
