I cant, when I "Save List" it opens a box marked "Save Add/Remove Software list to disk...", the same list of folders as my "My Documents" list less a tool bar. If you have the Windows Genuine Advantage icon in the system tray, what happens when you double-click on it? Is this a legal operating system?

Also, if you have the Safely Remove Hardware icon in the system tray, if you open it does it indicate there is hardware there? If so, stop it and then wait until it says you can remove it safely and then you should be able to close it.

Since you also mentioned the InCD icon, is it possible you still have files waiting to be written to a CD?

Or it could be your Apple Mobile Device was not disconnected properly.

I was given the computer a year ago by a friend and six months ago I had a message about the last windows update available to me, I updated and W,G,A has been bugging

Please go to Start - Run - type in eventvwr.msc to open the event viewer. Look under both "Application" and "System" for recent (the last 48 hours or so) errors (shown in red) and if found, do this for each one.

Double-click the error to open it up and then click on the icon that looks like two pieces of paper. This will copy the full error. Then "paste" the error into Notepad. Do this for each one until you have them all listed in Notepad and then copy and paste the list in a reply here please.
