Possible Virus Causing Long Boot Times I'm trying to get help on this, and this forum looked as good as any, so I apologize if this is the wrong forum for this question.
I have been recently experiencing long boot times and have found the cause. Windows Vista's native Event Log says I have a driver that is slowing my boot time. Its name is "aaqi5ihu". It slows the boot by about 1 minute. It shows no extension, which I thought was a little odd. A Google search returned nothing. I also fully searched my PC (including non-indexed, hidden, and system files) and found no such file. Further viewing of the event log shows 10 recent (past 3 days) occurrences of an 8 random lettered, A starting, no extension, not appearing on Google or my system, and taking almost exactly 1 minute on startup drivers. I think I have a virus. I just performed a full-system "Thorough" scan (including archives) with Avast! and found nothing.
Any help on what this is or how to get rid of it would be amazing.
EDIT: Windows Vista Home Premium SP1, a recent installation of CommView for Wifi was flagged by AVG, but I ignored it since Avast! said nothing and it seems like legitimate software.
