Windows XP problem PUP infiltration
Hello today I was on the internet when suddenly my mcafee security center popped up and my background changed. mcafee said that some PUP I guess thats some sort of virus was trying to access the internet and it recommended I do a virus scan, so I did and it was able to get rid of the PUP. But, my background which was changed is unable to be changed back to what it was before the PUP came. The background is just blue with a message that says: Warning! Spyware detected on your computer! Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer. I've tried going to the control panel but the option to change my background has some how been deleted. How can i get my background to change and my options on the control panel to be restored? Is it possible the PUP is still there?
My computer is a dell inspirion laptop 9400
It runs windows XP
and has a 52.7 GB hardrive i don't know what else to say to help you better understand my problem. If you need more information just ask because I really need help.
Thanks,
George

Hey I thought the Pup was gone but when I logged into my computer Mcafee showed it was there again. How do I get rid of it permanently? It 's called C:\WINDOWS\system32\blphcg6ej0egf3.scr
