computer running slowly and freezing after running firefox and steam games
when i close out of firefox the cpu for the process firefox.exe goes immediately to 99% and will usually cause my computer to freeze unless i end the process instead of closing firefox normally.
when i close out of steam games, my computer will run slower than usual, even if i end all processes related to steam. my computer will stay at this slowed speed untill i restart my computer.

here is my HJT log, if any other information is needed please tell me.

Hi Taintain101 and Welcome To TSG!

I would like you to generate a "Add/Remove Software list" log using the HijackThis application. Here is how you can do this:

To get an Uninstall List from HijackThis:
  • Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
  • Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
  • Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)
  • Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.

Please read this post completely, it may make it easier for you if you copy and paste this post to a new text document or print it for reference later.

Having two anti-virus programs running at the same time can cause your computer to run very slow, become unstable and even, in rare cases, crash. Please remove one of them.
AVG 8.5 OR BitDefender Free Edition v10. The links below will help you remove one of them. This is up to you, which one to keep.

AVG:
www.avg.com/download-tools

BitDefender:
http://kb.bitdefender.com/KB333-en--...tDefender.html

Older versions of Sun Java are vulnerable to numerous exploits which can be used to infect your computer.

Please download JavaRa to your desktop and unzip it to its own folder
  • Run JavaRa.exe, pick the language of your choice and click Select. Then click Remove Older Versions.
  • Accept any prompts.
  • Open JavaRa.exe again and select Search For Updates.
  • Select Update Using Sun Java's Website then click Search and click on the Open Webpage button. Download and install the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version for your computer.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
  • Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
  • Under Main choose: Select All
  • Click the Empty Selected button.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here.

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

Good Job!

Please Uninstall logitec desktop messenger from add/remove you don't need it! Logitech is not a virus or anything, but it uses unnecessary system resources in your computer. And it's not used anymore as well.

Please run the F-Secure Online Scanner

Note: You must use Internet Explorer for this scan!
  • Accept the License Agreement.
  • Once the ActiveX installs click Full System Scan
  • Once the download completes, the scan will begin automatically.
  • The scan will take some time to finish, so please be patient.
  • When the scan completes, click the Automatic cleaning (recommended) button.
  • Click the Show Report button and copy and paste the entire report in your next reply.
