Do the following in the order listed.

Run a HijackThis scan, put a checkmark in:

O3 - Toolbar: AVG Security Toolbar - {A057A204-BACC-4D26-9990-79A187E2698E} - C:\PROGRA~1\AVG\AVG8\avgtoolbar.dll

O8 - Extra context menu item: Add to Google Photos Screensa&ver - res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\GPhotos.scr/200

click "Fix Checked", then close HijackThis.

Uninstall PC Tools Spyware Doctor and Lavasoft Ad-Aware and Spybot - Search & Destroy.

Go into the C:\Program Files folder and delete their leftover folders - if they're still there.

Restart your computer.

(Note: If any of the leftover folders refuse to delete, try again after the computer is restarted.)

Go here and here to download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and SUPERAntiSpyware.

After they're installed, run their update function to get them up-to-date. Just update them and don't do a scan yet.

Restart your computer again.

It looks like you got rid of Spyware Doctor, Spybot, and Ad-Aware.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Run a scan with SUPERAntiSpyware. It should take 25 - 30 minutes. After it's done, allow it to select and fix everything it found.

Run a scan with Malwarebytes. It should take less than 10 minutes. After it's done, allow it to select and fix everything it found.

Restart your computer afterwards.

Hi Flavelee
When i downloaded malwarebtes i downloaded the one you buy.I used it when you told me to update. but today i uninstalled it and tried 3 time to download the free one. Each time i click to download a dropdown appears:- NO APPLICATION IS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS FILE. No problem with superantispyware
I have a software i no longer use Serif ImpactPlus 60.94MB I have tried many times to delete it from control panel. Just won't budge.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.38 and SUPERAntiSpyware 4.26.0.1006 are both FREE.

The links that I gave you allow you to download the FREE version.

You can buy the pay version(which provides "real time" protection), but the free version works just fine.

There was no need for you to uninstall it.

Hi flavelee
I have already deleted malwarebytes
I did what you told me. I click on 'click here' & 'click here' downloaded the wrong one first. then uninstalled it and downloaded malwarebytes antimalware 1.38.forgot to mention after download finish running. & after the dropdown note headed INFORMATION. No application is associated with this file. The computer shut down.
After reading your above. i looked in the Program Files and found a malwarebyte file. Not finding any in 'add & remove' I deleted it.

I have firefox, sometimes i have trouble with my freshdownloaed. i uninstalled it. And was able to download Malwarebytes etc. I ran both malwarebytes and SUPERantispyware. Both found nothing. I ran Hijack This. re below.

just look through the hijackThis file. AntiMalware ProNET is still their.But It's not in add&remove. & not in windows explorers files.

There is no AntiMalware Pro or AntiMalware ProNET entry inside the Add Or Remove Programs list?

There is no AntiMalware Pro or AntiMalware ProNET folder inside the C:\Program Files folder?

If that's correct, run a HijackThis scan, put a checkmark in:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [AntiMalware_ProNET] C:\Program Files\AntiMalware_Pro\AntiMalware_Pro.exe

then click "Fix Checked".

Restart your computer, then post a new HijackThis log here.

Hi,
I spent AGES compiling a HUGE list of things that will speed up a Windows XP computer (hopefully Professional, but Home will work too).

There is a very high risk that each of these tips can either speed up/slow down your computer, so tread carefully and I HIGHLY recommend backing up your computer, and then read through the word documents, and do whatever you want to do...

Everything you will need can be downloaded from these locations:

1. Word Document, containing all Speed and Accessability tweaks that I could find:

Do the following in the order listed, and take your time so it's done right.

After you've restarted your computer for the last time, run a new scan and post a new HijackThis log here.

Go into the MY COMPUTER main window, then click Tools - Folder Options - View(tab).

Select "Show hidden files and folders" and remove the checkmark in "Hide protected operating system files".

Click Apply - OK. Ignore the warning that appears.

Go into these 2 Temp folders:

C:\WINDOWS\Temp

C:\Documents And Settings\(Username)\Local Settings\Temp

Once those Temp folders are open and you can view their contents, delete everything inside them.

If perchance a few files resist being deleted, leave them there and delete everything else.

After you're done, close all windows and then restart your computer.

In the small window that appears, change the setting from Automatic(if currently set there) to Manual, then click Apply - OK.

Repeat the steps for the next entry until you're done with all of them.

Close the window, then restart your computer.

When the small System Configuration Utility window(see below screenshot) appears on the desktop, ignore the message. Put a checkmark in that window and then click OK.
