No they are harmless. I'm not sure why you are still getting them though.

I am still getting the cookies. They are the only ones though. However, they are mainly found now as file transfers rather than web threats. It is very weird since it has only been the last couple weeks since I started getting any file transfers detected. I think I just need another anti-virus program or something. Trend is just rubbish.

I updated to the new SuperAntiSpyware the other day and today when I went to update the definitions so that I could do a scan it comes up with a box saying "There was an error trying to retrieve definitions. Make sure your firewall is not blocking SUPERANTISPYWARE.EXE from accessing the internet". I checked and Trend is not blocking it. It has been set as allow. I don't know why it is not letting it through.

Check IE8 and make sure it's set to work on-line.

I checked both Firefox and IE8 and they are both set to work on-line. I really don't know what is up with Trend and SuperAntiSpyware.

If I was to get rid of Trend and download a free anti-virus program and probably a firewall one, could you reccommend a few and the links for me? Are there any other suggestions of things I should have on my computer to help protect it from all the nasties? I am really over all the hassels with Trend.

Look in the TSG Library of Knowledge for AV suggestions. Some are purchased and some are free.

I use avast on one of my computers right now.

TSG Library of Knowledge Firewalls

I use ZoneAlarm, the free one.

Also look in the General Security forum, there are a ton of threads on which is best with lots of opinions.

I finally uninstalled Trend and installed Avira Anti-virus. It picked up something straight away which I have posted a new thread about. SuperAntiSpyware is now working since I also installed ZoneAlarm as my firewall.

I think things are finally under control once my Avira problem is solved. Thank you so much for the help.

I'm not clear on what the Avira problem is.

Did you allow SuperAntiSpyware access to the internet in ZoneAlarm?

This is the thread that I posted with the details about my Avira problem
http://forums.techguy.org/malware-re...xec-cfexe.html.

I included both the Avira log and a HJT log as well.

I did allow SuperAntiSpyware access to the internet in ZoneAlarm. It is working fine.
