no regedit, apps will not run, browser redirect
This is a Dell Dim 4700. regedit won't open, malwarebytes, spybot search and destroy, trendmicro housecall all will not open. These apps install but not working. Cleaned up HD and registry, but still no luck. when browsing, it redirects to other sites instead, survey, spam ect.
Hijack This will not install, it does nothing.

change
Went ahead and formatted with fresh install, but, I do not have the original cd. There is no internet connection, onboard ethernet and I have no drivers to install. Went to dell but I can only download link to files, then the only option is to install. Can't figure out how to save to this pc, to transfer to the dell.

without the original cd it will be difficult, especially to get all the MS updates.

How did you format without the disk?

that's why it's not going to work. Unless you have multi-user licenses, that license is used with the other pc and will not be able to be activated.

Do you have multiuser licences for the windows installation disk?

thanks,

Yeah, but MS doesn't know that. Have you called them and let them know it's off a dead pc?

That should be your first step; it's relatively quick and painless, and will open the license up again.
