Anyway, have been trying to get HJT scan and log to post but right before scan is complete the screen disappears. Have installed and uninstalled several times w/ same result. After it disappears and I try to start again using shortcut I get error stating "windows unable to access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have appropriate permission to access the item." Any ideas?? Figure I better figure this out before the bigger problems. Thanks

Please download exeHelper to your desktop.
Double-click on exeHelper.com to run the fix.
A black window should pop up, press any key to close once the fix is completed.
Post the contents of log.txt (Will be created in the directory where you ran exeHelper.com) Note: If the window shows a message that says "Error deleting file", please re-run the program before posting a log - and post the two logs together (they will both be in the one file).

Thanks for your time.. Ran exe program and attached. FYI I have xp home and Norton 360 premier. In my attempts to correct I can no longer get the Norton main window to show and taskbar quick start icon is gone and can't get shortcut to work either, Checked on Security Center and it shows Norton firewall and anti virus working but I can't access it to enable/disable or any of the other tools it has. Apparently Windows update hasn't been working for several months either. Tried to install SP3 but also fails. Tried combo-fix again but now can't run as can't find way to disable norton. Tried luall.exe but says file not found. I'm a mess!!!? Forgot log.

#12 | I had d-l'd it and attempted to run it but it stopped as the other programs do. Reviewed posts and attempted to rename and try again but same thing. I know you're not to run w/o assistance but was desperate. | | Senior Member with 1,310 posts. | | Join Date: Jun 2006 Location: Australia Experience: gettin there |
