Hello and welcome to TSG

IMPORTANT

Whatever repairs we make, are for fixing your computer problems only and by no means should be used on another computer.
To make cleaning this machine easier:-
  • Continue to respond to this thread until I give you the All Clean!
  • Please DO NOT uninstall/install any programs unless asked to. It is more difficult when files/programs appear or disappear from the logs.
  • Please do not run any scans other than those requested and do not post any logs/reports unless specifically requested to do so.
  • Please follow all instructions in the order posted.
  • If you have any questions or do not understand instructions, please ask before continuing.
  • Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.

Make an uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:
  • Start HijackThis
  • Click on the Config button
  • Click on the Misc Tools button
  • Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.
  • Click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Save the file to your desktop.

Please post this log on your next reply.

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and save to your desktop.
  • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
  • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to:

    Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select Perform Full scan, then click Scan.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please copy and paste the log back into your next reply

    Note:
  • The log can also be found here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\mbam-log-date (time).txt
  • Or via the Logs tab when Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is started.

Please reply with:-
  • Uninstall list
  • MBAM log
  • NEW HJT log

Download and run Combofix
This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.
ComboFix SHOULD NOT be used unless requested by a forum helper

Please download ComboFix from one of these locations:

Link 1
Link 2

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop
  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools.
  • If you need help to disable your protection programs see here.
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it will produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.

If you need help, see this link:

I've attached both logs since they are too long to post. Thanks again for all your help.

Hi, I see signs of Panda. Was this an Antivirus that you had prior to Norton? Have you uninstalled and what I see are remnants?
Answer to above question.

Also, Norton is outdated? is this because you cant update or because subscription has run out?

Please update me on how things are going after doing the following, and supply answers to previous questions.

1. Go to Start-Settings-Control Panel, click on Add remove Programs. If any of the following programs are listed there, click on the program to highlight it, and click on remove. Then close the Control Panel.
  • Viewpoint Manager (Remove Only)
    Viewpoint Media Player
    WildTangent Web Driver
    Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.3 Outdated
    Hijackthis 1.99.1

2. Open Hijack This and select Do a System Scan Only place a check next to the below lines if still present
  • O2 - BHO: (no name) - {94009e6a-8d71-4573-8663-7baba593c64c} - sureniya.dll (file missing)

  • Save this as CFScript.txt and change the "Save as type" to "All Files" and place it on your desktop.

  • Very Important! Temporarily disable your anti-virus, script blocking and any anti-malware real-time protection before following the steps below. They can interfere with ComboFix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause "unpredictable results".
  • If you need help to disable your protection programs see here.
  • Referring to the screenshot above, drag CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe.
  • ComboFix will now run a scan on your system. It may reboot your system when it finishes. This is normal.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.
CAUTION: Do not mouse-click ComboFix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

I did have Panda a while back and did uninstall it, but I guess not completely. I did look at my list of programs to remove, but it wasn't on the list of programs. How can i get rid of what's there? Also, my subscripton to Norton did run out, but just recently and after all this started happenning I was going to resubscribe, but I didn't want to put in any credit card information because of possible spyware and viruses. I will resubscribe after my computer is completely cleaned. I'm currently at work right now, but I will do the steps above when I get home. Thanks.

Here are both logs. The computer is running a little better, but i did get a couple of RUNDLL errors when Combofix restarted my computer. One was an error with the kanomoro.dll and the other was hitodute.dll. Other than that, the computer seems to be fine. No popup ads or any of the previous problems. Let me know if you see anything in the logs that I may have missed. Thanks

If we clean the computer and you use it without an updated Antivirus then there is a good chance you will be re-infected before you can say rumpilstiltskin!

If you do not subscribe to Norton for whatever reasons, there are good free Antivirus’s available. Let me know if you would prefer to use one of them. This is very important. At present, you will re-infect the computer as we clean it if used other than what is to be done here.

Please click Start then run, copy and paste services.msc in the run box, then click ok.

When the Services box opens, scroll down and double click on
  • Panda Process Protection Service

In Service status select STOP
In Start up type select Disable from the drop down box.

Then click Apply, ok and exit

Please delete Combofix from your desktop and download the latest version. Also please copy and paste logs, do not attach
