Thanks got the files

it is a conduit toolbar and there are allegations taht conduit track you everywhere on the net & have quite high privacy implications

it looks like it has radio stations built in so is very likely to eb causing the music playing oin background

where did you install this vpacs toolbar from

what is vpacs
is it a club or organization you belong to

I suggest uninstall it form afdd/remove programs

any problems uninstalling it let us know & we can rip it out using combofix

V-Pacs Toolbar
I have contacted the provider of the V-Pacs Toolbar and have not heard back from them. The toolbar came from an internet program which I am a member of. Because I have not heard back from the adminstrator of the program, I have uninstalled the toolbar. The background music stopped after I first ran Combofix and I have not heard it since then.

you should be fine now then

As I said , I can find nothing out about teh Vpacs toolbar & don't know if it is 100% good or slightly bad, tracking you

Conduit branded toolbars get these allegations & it is up to the individual to decide on what level of privacy tehy want & whether they are happy with any sort of cross site tracking

*Follow these steps to uninstall Combofix and the other tools it downloaded to remove the malware*
* Click START then RUN
* Now type Combofix /Uninstall in the runbox and click OK. Note the space between the X and the /U, it needs to be there.

This will also purge the restore folder and clear any malware that has been put in there. Now Empty Recycle bin on desktop Then reboot.

go here http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/index.php?page=3 for info on how to tighten your security settings and how to help prevent future attacks.

and scan here http://secunia.com/software_inspector/ for out of date & vulnerable common applications on your computer and update whatever it suggests

Then pay an urgent visit to windows update & make sure you are fully updated, that will help to plug the security holes that let these pests on in the first place
