Add/Remove Program Help
The Add/Remove program does’nt open .
Already tried these procedures –
1) Run - regsvr32 mshtml.dll, regsvr32 shdocvw.dll –I, regsvr32 shell32.dll –I
2) Sfc /scannow
but it still opens to a blank page.
Is there a fix for this problem.
Using Win XP SP2
Many thanks in advance for any help.

Tried Run > REGSVR32 APPWIZ.CPL
and got this instead 'LoadLibrary("appwiz") failed.
The specified module could not be found.

Is this a recent problem? Have you tried a System Restore to a time before it started?

Would also be a good idea to post a HJT log file. You can download it herehttp://download.cnet.com/Trend-Micro...html?tag=mncol. Install to its default location Close ALL open windows, launch HJT and click scan system and save log file. It will save to notepad. Copy the entire scan and paste it into a post in this thread. DO NOT FIX ANYTHING.

Many thanks in advance for any help.
Have you entered the commands in a command prompt by clicking Start > Run > and typing CMD ?

No, only in the 'Run' dialog box.
Will try that out later.

Now that you have posted a HJT log... You really should wait for one of the people with the gold or green shield next to their name to post. They have special training and are the only ones here that are supposed to handle the HJT stuff.
Good Luck

If it doesn't work out after using the command prompt, can't you recover a backed up image with Acronis?

Besides having a massively-bloated startup load, that computer has malware and appears to be infected.

Looks like it:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Long Internet Team Stupid] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\comp two long internet\Poke Bash.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Debug Mags] C:\DOCUME~1\User\APPLIC~1\JOYPEA~1\Inter Play Bait.exe

Using file sharing apps like Ares will definitely get you infected sooner or later...

This startup entry definitely looks suspicious to me:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [usb_autorun_remover] "C:\WINDOWS\System32\wscript.exe" "C:\Program Files\usb_anti_autorun\usb.wsf" //Job:Work

I checked it at the bleepingcomputer.com and pcreview.co.uk and sysinfo.org sites and came up empty.

Kaspersky does flag it as potential malware (on Russian websites).

Rong 18:

I've reported this thread to the "Malware Removal & HijackThis Logs" section for assistance by a malware expert.

It's a busy section, so it may be 24 - 48 hours before you get a reply by a yellow shield malware expert.

In the meantime, go here and here and click the green icon to download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.41 and SUPERAntiSpyware 4.29.0.1004.

Just download and save them for now and don't install them or do anything with them yet.
