Trojan possibly causing Various problems - please help!
Hey! I need help.

This is my first post so please bear with me!

In past week I have had increasing problems with my laptop. It began when I was on the yahoo answers website. I clicked on a link by mistake and before I could backtrack or cancel it had already downloaded something. I tried finding where it downloaded but to no success.

The following things are happening on my laptop now:
  1. When using google search - when i click on a result I get redirected to other webpages 9 times out of 10. Quite often to something called 'Scour'.
  2. A few times now a message similar to this has popped up - "DCOM server process launcher service has terminated unexpectedly"
and it counts down one minute and then shuts off. (I stopped it restarting by entering command in Run based on advice from a similar post elsewhere on this site)
  3. Pop ups are appearing on websites where there should be none.
  4. Computer is running more slowly.
  5. EDIT Since original post: Now my computer is saying that 'Vista Registration has stopped working' and 'dw20' is trying to access the internet and that it has been modified since it was last used.
I just downloaded and installed the 'Hijack This' program following the link from this site and then I chose option - run and create log I think it was? But then it shut down straight away and now will not allow me to access the program. It says 'Windows cannto acces the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. Is it me being stupid or is there something else I need to do to get Hijack This' to work?

I have run computer scans and Security programs I have on computer but apart from a tracking cookie it does not show anything else.

All help is appreicated. Thank You.

Ostia

My computer was beginning to have problems even starting up today so I could not risk leaving it any longer so I took it back to factory settings and this seems to have also removed whatever was causing all the problems. So help is no longer required. Thanks anyway!
