Cannot access search engines
My sister is having a problem on her computer...it started when she got infected by a trojan. i had her install malwarebytes and run a scan. she did and it worked. but ever since then, she has not been able to access any search engines, no google or ask, etc. (she can access yahoo's main page, but isnt able to run a search). Each time she does, firefox (i had her try IE as well, no luck; and I had her uninstall and reinstall ff) gives her the following message:

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.nameofsearchengine.com.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I had her install and run hijackthis. Any ideas? thank you in advance. she wants to try and avoid an complete reformat of HD and reinstall of os:

Your computer is infected. Please click on the Report button and kindly ask to be moved to the Malware Removal forum.

If you don't get yourself an antivirus, you'll get infected over and over again.
