| Slow computer and search redirects. *hijackthis log* Hi all. I'm new to this and I seriously need help! I have an HP with McAfee. McAfee keeps popping up saying it has bloked a trojan called "fake alert". When I scan using McAfee it says that my computer is clean, however I am having a ton of issues. My computer keeps freezing and throwing me out of the internet. Also when I use google, it redirects me to a completely unrelated site. Any suggestions? I am lost.... |

| Upgrading Java:
Download OTS.exe to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTS on your desktop.

| Yes, I was able to see the log fine. Start OTS. Copy/Paste the information in the Code box below into the pane where it says Paste fix here and then click the Run Fix button. Code: [Unregister Dlls]
[Registry - Safe List]
< Internet Explorer ToolBars [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\] > -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\
YN -> ShellBrowser\\"{C4069E3A-68F1-403E-B40E-20066696354B}" [HKLM] -> Reg Error: Key error. [Reg Error: Key error.]
< Run [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\] > -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
YN -> "nrxgfwmq" -> C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator.YANEZ\Local Settings\Application Data\njvkse\mqtksysguard.exe [C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator.YANEZ\Local Settings\Application Data\njvkse\mqtksysguard.exe ]
The fix should only take a very short time. When the fix is completed a message box will popup telling you that it is finished. Click the Ok button and Notepad will open with a log of actions taken during the fix. Post that information back here with a new hijackthis log.

| Run HJT again and put a check in the following: O18 - Filter hijack: text/html - {ca1baa5b-9042-4947-8ba5-2540e5f2c55f} - (no file) Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked". Looks good. Any problems? |

| You should remove all of the tools I requested you to download and/or folders associated with them now. It is pointless to keep these tools around as they are updated so frequently that the tools can be outdated within a few days, sometimes within just hours. Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: (You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected) 1. Turn off System Restore.
2. Restart your computer. 3. Turn ON System Restore.
NEXT
Now you should Clean up your PC
