Lsas Blaster Keyloger
I have windows xp with ie7, not sure what else you will need but my problem began last night. This window popped up saying I had a virus and wanted me to go to Security Tool to buy their removal, that the virus was isas blaster keylogger and was trying to send my credit card info to other sites. Since then it has invaded probably every program, I can't even open taskmanager. Every program I tried to install to run against this has been interupted in the process. I can download the setup but when I try to run the program it won't run. I even tried pinning to the start menu and that didn't work. Can you help me please?

Thank you

Sage

My computer goes into shutdown mode about every 30 minutes, I cannot get a screen shot or printscreen so all I have managed to get so far is that the problem seem to be coming from command

Page_Fault_in_nonpaged_area

should I delete this and how do I do it?

Thanks

Question even more info on Lsas Blaster Keyloger
Sorry, got the spelling correct now. I typed it into the search bar of my browser and hit a site which said "SUCCESS google.ca/search?sourceid = navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4GWYE_enUS305US305&0=LSAS"

So sorry for the multiple postings but I guess I feel so alone out here, I am 62 yrs old and not too literate especially with the rapid growth of the computer industry, this is really scary.

Thanks

Lsas Blaster Keyloger
I think I posted to the wrong place so I'll try again...This worm as it describes itself will not let me run any of the antivirus programs I have downloaded. It bring numerous popups telling me everything isi nfected including the programs I have just downloaded such as hijacker. It first rpesented as Security Tool, informing me I was infected and trying to get me to go to their site to buy the removal kit. I will probably have to give info in more than one post as this worm also shuts down my computer every 20 minutes or so. When the blue screen pops up it tells me the the problem seems to be coming from "Page_Fault_In_Nonpage_area"

I'm sending this now before I shut down

more info
I run Win xp with ie7. I can't get a log sorry. I tried doing a search on this worm so typed in Lsas Blaster Keyloger in toolbar and it took me to a page with a link. The message was "Success!" Then link google.ca/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4GWYE_enUS305US305&9=Lsas.

I get popups in which security tool "alerts" me to this ongoing threat. Would doing a recovery help? I am about at my wits end. Please help, I can't get into anything but the internet and can't run programs from there.

infected by "Thomas Capano Photo" ??
My computer shut down when I clicked on the "Thomas Capano Photo" link that came up when I did a google search on him. When it came back up was the first time I saw the Security Tool image. My desktop comes up for a second without the background, only a blue screen back, then it disappears and the Security tool image takes the entire screen. I last shut down at 8:40 am cst, I am timing the shutdowns and trying to get all the ox info at bottom of shutdown screen. Will that help?

My computer shut down after 32 minutes. I finally got a really brief look at taskmanager and it didn't show anything running except for program files (which I opened trying to run regristry mechanic...no luck <sigh>) and ie.

Hi, Welcome to TSG!!

  • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
  • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
  • Click on Install.
  • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
  • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
  • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
  • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
  • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
  • DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Thanks, for some reason my computer ability was returned to me this morning. I have since ran Hijack, MalwareBytes and AVG. Several items were found infected and removed but I would really like for you to take a look at this log and see if it is cleared up.

Most Sincerely

Sage

HJT Lsas Blaster Keyloger
Short recap:
Puter overran by virus, captured all my programs saying they were infected by lsas blaster keyloger and were trying to send my credit card info to a remote location. puter would shut down every 30 minutes, no time to run a scan. Could not open anything not even task manager. infected 11-15 then on 11-24 capabilities were returned to me. I ran malwarebytes virus removal then hjt and then downloaded avg and ran another scan.

Virus is still there, every now and then I get messages that don't make any sense, especially when surfing, one said that puter was infected and used windows name and security symbol but was too insistent. I run xp and ie7.

Thanks
Sage

While we try our hardest to avoid them, accidents do happen. With today's malware being as it is, we will not be held responsible for any loss of your data. You are following the instructions given at your own risk. We recommend that you back up any data that’s important to you beforehand, just in case the worst happens.

1. As a general rule, to offset any unexpected mishaps, your personal data should be backed up regularly. If you do not already have a process in place that backs up your data, it is highly recommended you do this now. Click here here for guidelines on what to back up and how to do it.

2. Uninstall the following via Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel:

If you have more than one antivirus software installed, leave only ONE and uninstall the others.
CD emulation software, such as DAEMON Tools or Alcohol, see this page for complete instructions. These can be reinstalled once any malware removal efforts are completed.

p2p programs like uTorrent, Bittorrent, LimeWire, Morpheus, etc., as they are a major conduit for malware and a likely source of your current issues.

Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools.
If you are not sure how to disable see this help page.

Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

Link 1
Link 2

**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**

Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.

  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply for further review.
