    hey frank, there is a device that has a question mark on the device manager but its not the wireless device,its an ethernet controller with a device instance ID

    RE: my wireless network adapter.. there actually is no unknown devices found. but there certainly is a network adapter because before the reformat it still functioned..

    See my reply in your thread. I would first try to repair IE7. If that doesn't work, reinstall it.

    Well, that is nice to know. I grew up on North Lafountain Street where Haven and Lafountain meet. I lived there until 1953 and then we went to our country home in New London. I am 71 years old and trying to get internet explorer and Earthlink to work together is pulling my hair out. Do you have any solution?
