Matt, There is nothing wrong with you typing out a long reply. You are genuinely concerned about your social life and you are just expressing it. I do think you are too worried about yourself and see yourself in a more negative light than other people do. When you are with friends you don't have to be talking all the time. When you do have a lag in conversation, ask the other person if they feel uncomfortable and tell them you would like to learn to keep a conversation going better...ask that person if they could help you with it. They may tell you they have the same problem sometimes and you could help each other.

I am glad you had a good time and that things went well with your friends coming over. Wish the food had been better at the party though. I will be glad to see the pictures when you upload them.

    HUGGGGGSSSS to you too!!!

I know you had a good time at the prom but did you get to eat anything? And did your friends behave? You hadn't said anything here to the contrary so I hope all went well. I hope we can also help you with your social skills...I don't think they are as bad as you think they are. I really think you are nervous that someone isn't going to like you or not think you are interesting....but you have a great personality...you are kind and considerate and fun too. If you can just relax and know that most kids your age are in the same boat...everyone wants to be popular and at your age you worry about that more. But I also get a sense you just want some geniune friends. The kind of friend you can talk to about anything and everything. As I have prayed for you before I will again that you will have wisdom in searching out friends and be able to communicate and reach out to the right kind of people and also people that will love and respect you back...cause you deserve it.

I think when my son retires from his job it will make a big difference. His schedule is hectic right now. Hope you are enjoying being out of school.

My youngest daughter, 31, lives less than a mile from me...so we see each other and talk almost every day. My middle child, another daughter, lives about 45 minutes from me...we talk a lot and I do some babysitting for her and we attend all the grandkids birthday parties and stuff like that. So I get to see my daughters a lot more.

He works an odd shift ...when he gets home he eats dinner and practically heads to bed immediately...accept when he has to help his daughter with homework. He said he is retiring in two years...then he can come down more and also get on the internet.

Out of my three children, he lives the farthest...I miss him a lot. But he has a good life and is very happy. So I don't worry about him. Just wish I could see him more.

    Keep up the good work!

My son lives almost 4 hours away so I didn't get to be with him. But we talked on the phone. He and his wife went out for dinner and celebrated. He went to a chinese restaurant and had sushi...I have never had it...he says it is good...but it just doesn't sound that appetizing to me. He said he is going to take me out sometime and have me try it. I told him I would be willing to try it at least once.

Thank you for your prayers. That is very kind of you. It is good for us all to pray for each other. You have a great weekend...enjoy it.

I think you are a young man with a good future in front of you. You have a conscience and a good heart. At your age you are constantly pulled in two directions. Kind of like an angel on shoulder and a devil on the other. Each telling you to go there way. Sometimes the wrong path is very very tempting...and is fun for a short time...but it always ends in sorrow. On the good path, sometimes you may feel you are missing out on something...but in reality...you aren't...the only thing you miss out on is trouble.

Take care and remember I am praying for you.

I am praying for you Matt, I know teen years are a hard time in life. You will feel great one minute and the next your whole world is falling apart. Just be careful not to make any permanent mistakes.
