    my copy of W7 was installed by my sons freind at work it was done under a general licence as they are an IT company.
    - so its actually an illegal copy as I'm sure the IT company was not expecting all its employees to provide copies of their software to all their friends , and your friend is probably in breach of company policy - I know some companies do have a clause which allows employees to use the software on their PCs - but thats NOT friends
