You will want to look into the software and see if it has OCR capabilities. OCR means optical character recognition. This allows you to read an image file and translate it into text. If it does not have those capabilities then scan it in as a tiff image file type and then use Microsoft Office Document Imaging" to translate the image into text. you can access the application via "Start">>"All Programs">>"Microsoft Office">>"Microsoft Office Tools">>"Microsoft Office Document Imaging."

You can do very little within MS Office Document Imaging. What changes are you trying to do to the image?

On my Dell Inspiron 510 I have Microsoft Office Imaging and can scan a document though my HP6310 All-in-One printer. However, I cannot then edit the document--it is like a picture. I was able to edit a scanned document through my old stand-alone scanner. How can I edit a scanned document on this new machine? Thank you.
