Oh ok, sounds kind of similar to how i learned windows, just had my first computer which was win98se on a 200MhZ desktop and was tinkering with that, then received a 600MhZ machine sporting windows 2k and that i really tore into in terms of hardware, and got a chance to tear apart a modern windows machine and just had an interest that kept going. So here i am now. Been drifiting from it a bit this summer but im still in it and probably will go back soon.

Mainly just a lot of practice, reading and trial and error. I find the syntax similar to a stripped down version of BASIC, and I first used BASIC on an old TTY Model 33 connected to a mainframe back in 72. Did some programming in BASIC and Assembly on 8 bit processors for equipment at work, and on the Commodore 64 and Atari 800, but got out of it about the time 16 bit processors came out.
Then got started with MS-DOS about version 4 or 5 and have been trying stuff and reading ever since, mainly to do little simple stuff that didn't warrant buying a program for.
Keep telling my self I should really get started with one of the flavors of C and/or Visual Basic but never seem to get around to it.

Hello jerry, i have an interesting question, how did you learn so much about batch scripting? To be honest your scripts look more like programming code! Im honestly really impressed and curious to learn how you learned so much about DOS and batch scripting.
