Thank you very much for your 4/2002 post letting people know how to remove the messenger icon by RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove. I had been looking for weeks and could not find a way to do it. Just the add/remove programs would not permanently get rid of the icon in the task bar which I could not stand looking at. Thanks again.
